When you report a claim, what information should you have available?

Having these details ready helps us process your auto claim faster:

• Policy number: Found on your insurance card or policy documents.
• Date, time and location of the accident: Be as specific as possible.
• Description of what happened: How the accident occurred.
• Vehicle information: Year, make and model of all vehicles involved.
• Other driver's information: Names, contact info, insurance details and license plate numbers.
• Injuries: Description of any injuries to drivers or passengers.
• Contact information: Your home, work, and cell phone numbers, as well as your email address.
• Police report: Responding police department and accident report number.
• Witness information: Names and contact info for anyone who saw the accident.
• Photos: If you took photos of vehicle damage or the accident scene.

What happens after you file your claim?

• We review your information: Your dedicated claims rep will review your claim details and may reach out if we need additional information or documentation.
• We inspect the damage: For most claims, we'll schedule an inspection or ask you to submit photos of the damage. We make this as easy as possible.
• We process your claim: Once we have everything we need, we'll review your coverage and determine what's covered under your Ohio auto, home or renters policy.
• You get your settlement: If your claim is approved, we'll issue payment to help you repair, replace or recover from your loss.
